Nigeria: Stakeholders brainstorm on ending foreigners’ disruption in cashew value chain

Stakeholders in the cashew sub sector of the economy during the week gathered for the National Cashew Consultative meeting in Lagos to brainstorm on how to stem the tide of foreigners disrupting the cashew value chain by encroaching the farm gate. The meeting which had in attendance major stakeholders across the cashew value chain from all producing states deliberated on the modalities from the implementation of the national policy on farm gate trade of agro commodities among others. Various stakeholders who spoke at the meeting could not hide their feelings as they said the disruption has been on for long and it has in no small measure affected the livelihood of the players and the nation’s economy and has even given the country a bad name internationally.
