(Milyang=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Dong-min = The government support funds for 1,700 apple farmers in Euljamgol, Milyang, Gyeongnam, who suffered damage from cold weather and hail earlier this year, will be disbursed starting from the 30th.
According to People Power Party Representative Park Sang-woong (Milyang, Uiryeong, Haman, Changnyeong) on the 29th, a total of 2.8 billion won will be disbursed to 1,481 farmers affected by the cold weather, and 350 million won will be disbursed to 221 farmers affected by hail.
Earlier, Representative Park urged the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for accurate investigation and prompt compensation for damages, and followed up with a central joint investigation and confirmation of the support funds.
Representative Park said, "Since the cold weather and hail damage, we have been in talks with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and as a result of the disaster relief fund payment, we can put out the immediate fire," and "We will do our best until the end to stabilize the livelihood of the farmers and achieve complete recovery."
Separately, it is reported that the agricultural cooperative's disaster insurance payments will be finalized by the end of the year after confirming the extent of the damage and losses by November.
