The Irish Scallop Fleet will receive a €560,000 support package from the government to help offset losses caused by Brexit. The fleet, which targets scallops in the Irish Sea, Celtic Sea, and the English Channel, has been significantly affected by reductions in fishing time and logistical issues since the implementation of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. Eligible vessel owners can receive up to €80,000 per vessel based on the number of days at sea lost compared to previous years.
