Strawberry prices in Ukraine have increased by 22-30% compared to last year, reaching 120–144 UAH/kg, according to Tetyana Popovych, head of the marketing department of the wholesale agricultural market "Shuvar" (Lviv). The price hike is attributed to the cool spring, which delayed the strawberry season. Currently, Ukrainian strawberries are dominating the Lviv market, with the peak season predicted for the end of May to early June. Despite anticipated favorable weather, experts do not expect a significant decrease in prices due to lower harvest volumes and increased cultivation and logistics costs. Additionally, Ukraine may face a cherry shortage due to April's frosts and the occupation of traditional growing regions by Russian troops.
