Egypt's strawberry season is seeing a decrease in productivity, with a 15% drop due to issues with Florida variety plants and adverse weather conditions. Despite this, the country is expected to maintain stable volumes, reaching around 250,000 tons, and remain the world's leading strawberry exporter. The devaluation of the Egyptian pound is expected to make Egyptian strawberries more competitive in international markets. Elsayed Elgohary, a producer, plans to market 1,200-1,500 tons of strawberries this season, using heavy clay soils to produce strawberries with better quality and taste.
