Minister Zulkifli Hasan has met with the Cocoa Association of Asia to discuss improving cocoa farmers' welfare and supporting the growth of Indonesia's cocoa and chocolate industry. The government's commitment includes dividing agricultural clusters, mapping potential production provinces, and expanding the Plantation Fund Management Agency's responsibilities to manage cocoa and coconut, in addition to palm oil. Other strategies include cocoa plantation rehabilitation and downstreaming of cocoa-based products, potentially benefiting the Indonesian artisan chocolate industry and providing opportunities for artisans to globalize. The Minister also stressed the importance of collaboration and compliance with business competition rules, seeking support from CAA to increase cocoa farmers' capacity and enhance the sustainability of Indonesia's cocoa sector.
