The government is implementing a new system to manage the supply and demand of horticultural products, aiming to mitigate production issues caused by abnormal weather. This initiative focuses on transitioning from government-led actions to a model centered on public-private cooperation with producers. Key measures include revising the legal framework for self-help funds to boost their public role, increasing government contributions, and curbing free-riding. Additionally, the vegetable price stabilization system will be revamped, with import stabilization insurance assuming price difference functions by 2026. A new Supply and Demand Management Center will be established, and consumption forecasting will be enhanced to better align with evolving trends and significant demand sources.
