In the second quarter of 2024, Vietnam experienced a notable increase in meat and meat product exports, with a 15.8% rise in volume and a 9.5% increase in value compared to the previous quarter, amounting to 25.95 million USD. The Asian region, particularly Hong Kong, was the primary market for these exports, which included a variety of meats and meat by-products. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is working towards increasing the export value of livestock products to 1-1.5 billion USD by 2025, despite facing challenges in meeting the strict export requirements set by various countries and organizations. Efforts are being made to expand export opportunities to countries like South Korea, China, Singapore, the EU, the UK, and Middle Eastern nations, with some progress already made in export licenses for dairy products and bird's nests.
