A total of 416 samples of trepang, a marine delicacy, were tested for quality and safety in a laboratory in China, looking at compliance with up to 49 indicators, including microbiological and organoleptic parameters, as well as heavy metals and toxic elements. The results showed that all batches met the required standards, set by both Russia and the importing countries. Trepang is rich in essential nutrients like B vitamins, minerals, Omega-3 fatty acids, and phospholipids, and is exclusively caught in Primorsky Krai and Sakhalin Oblast in Russia.
