The Jeonnam Provincial Institute of Marine and Fisheries Science in Korea has made a breakthrough in mass producing clam seeds for the first time, as announced on June 25. The institute has developed technology for harvesting and dispersing mature clams, producing 600,000 seeds this year. These seeds, from a expensive and unique variety of clam, will be released into natural habitats to investigate their effectiveness. The institute aims to improve the income of Jeonnam fishermen by continuing its research and finding ways to create resources.
