Sugar beet harvesting has begun in Kahramanmaraş.
As in many provinces, sugar beet production is among the significant revenue sources for producers in Kahramanmaraş. In the district of Afşin, as every year, producers who planted sugar beets have started harvesting. It was noted that sugar beets, which go through many stages from seed meeting soil to the harvesting phase, are sent to factories after being harvested.
Producer Mehmet Çobanbeyli, who stated that the sugar beet harvesting season is ongoing, said, "We have started harvesting sugar beets, which go through many stages from seed meeting soil to the harvesting phase. We do everything on time, from irrigation to fertilization. We are getting a bountiful yield. I believe that farming is now easier than before. We are doing in hours with machines what used to be done by hand by dozens of people over days. We load the harvested sugar beets onto trucks and tractors and deliver them to the sugar factory."
