The sugar mills in Brazil's Center-South region processed 34,037 million tons of sugarcane in the first half of October of the 2025/26 season (April 2025 to March 2026), compared to 33,937 million tons in the same period of the previous season, an increase of 0.30%. The information comes from the biweekly survey of the Sugarcane Industry Union (Unica), released this Thursday (30). In the first half of October, 255 producing units were operating in the Center-South region, of which 234 units processed sugarcane, ten companies produced ethanol from corn, and 11 were flex mills. In the same period of the previous season, 258 producing units were in operation. According to Unica's survey, in the first fifteen days of October, 12 units ended the milling.
