Sugar futures contracts saw a decrease in all international markets at the start of the week, with a particular focus on the March sugar white contract, as reported by Reuters. In New York, the March 2023 raw sugar lot was traded at 21.20 cents per pound, a decrease of 38 points from the previous week. Meanwhile, in London, the March 2023 sugar white lot was traded at $563.00 per ton, a decrease of $7.80, and the May 2023 lot was traded at $559.00 per ton, a decrease of $7.90. Operators expect this market support due to the tight supply to persist until the beginning of the second quarter. Domestic markets also experienced a decrease in sugar crystal quotations, while etanol hydratado was valued at R$ 2,851.50 per m³, an increase of 1.68% compared to the previous week.
