Russia's sugar production saw a slight increase of 0.5% in the first ten months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, reaching 3.6 million tons. Despite this, the production of white beet sugar in October 2022 experienced a decline of 5.7% from October 2021 but a significant increase of 21.2% from September 2022. The production of chocolate and confectionery products in the same period decreased by 3.4% compared to October 2021. The country also saw a notable increase in the production of unrefined sunflower oil, with a 17.1% rise in the first ten months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, producing 4.8 million tons. Meanwhile, the production of refined sunflower oil increased by 8.2% in the same period, producing 2 million tons.
