In 2022, Russia experienced a significant increase in the production of both sunflower and rapeseed oil, with increases of 14% and over a third, respectively, compared to the previous year. This surge in vegetable oil production was largely due to a successful oilseed harvest of 29.1 million tons and a 40% increase in the supply of oilseeds for export. The main importers of Russian oil included China, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, with the main export regions being Primorsky Krai, Kaliningrad, and Novosibirsk.
