Sunflower prices in Ukraine remain under pressure from falling export prices for sunflower oil

Currently, the prices for sunflower with delivery to the plant are between 25,000-26,000 UAH/t. However, a growth in export demand for Ukrainian sunflower is anticipated, following Turkey's decision to eliminate the duty on sunflower seed imports within a specific quota and lower duties on imports outside the quota from January 1 to April 30, 2025. Furthermore, Ukraine is set to replace its sunflower export licensing regime with a minimum price mechanism, although this will continue to be valid for exports to Bulgaria and 4 other EU countries.
