Egypt increasing domestic supply of sugar production and exporting "beet pulp" to Europe

Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Yazid, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delta Sugar of the Ministry of Supply, confirmed that the production lines have been developed, and they now accommodate 21 thousand tons of beet per day, instead of 14 thousand tons, an increase of 7 tons, which contributed to increasing local production and thus achieving self-sufficiency. Attention was drawn to the maintenance work, which included raising the capacity of the first line dry vacuum drums, maintaining the soft pulp presses, as well as following up the sugar product conveyors in the final stages, developing raw juice transportation lines, in addition to securing stores to cope with any air changes. It is worth noting that Delta Sugar had previously thought to plant 120,000 feddans of beet this year, an increase of 23,000 feddans over last year, and many incentives were provided to beet farmers, to encourage the increase of beet cultivated areas.
