The General Authority for Supply Commodities has secured a deal to import 430,000 tons of wheat from Russia at $235 per ton to enhance Egypt's commodity reserves for over six months. Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, assured that the subsidized wheat stocks are sufficient for 6.1 months to sustain the local bread system. Alongside Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, the Minister inspected various facilities in Fayoum, including a metal silo, an automated bakery, and production lines at the Central Egypt Mills branch. They evaluated both the old cylinder mill with a capacity of 170 tons/day and the new Buhler cylinder mill, noting their capacities and production processes.
