In November 2024, Hungary saw a 5% increase in the national average producer price of raw milk, reaching 192.17 forints/kilogram, which is 20% higher than the same period in the previous year. Despite a 4% increase in base price and improvements in fat and protein content, raw milk purchase volume decreased by 2% compared to the previous month. However, exports of raw milk increased by 3% compared to November 2023. The export price was significantly higher than the average producer price. Prices for various dairy products, including Trappist cheese and UHT milk, also saw changes in the consumer market.
On a global scale, the producer price of raw milk increased by 31% in New Zealand, 17% in the USA, and 17% in the European Union compared to the previous year. The world market selling prices for dairy products like bulk butter, whole milk powder, cheddar cheese, and skimmed milk powder also increased significantly compared to the same period in 2023. In France and Germany, milk purchase trends and prices for dairy products, including melted butter and skimmed milk powder, experienced fluctuations compared to the previous year and week, respectively.
