Jeongseon County in Gangwon-do has begun shipping its high-quality apples ahead of Chuseok. The apples, which are grown in highlands at around 500 meters above sea level, are praised for their firm flesh and high sugar content. The county has focused on apple cultivation since 2006 as a way to increase farmers' income and adapt to climate change, with 319 farms and 260 hectares currently dedicated to apple production.
