Sweet corn maintains pace with weather

The Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar on Wednesday (19) indicates that, in the administrative region of Lajeado, in Cruzeiro do Sul, sweet corn is in a period between harvests for commercialization. According to the document, "farmers continue to carry out planting in staggered intervals, every two weeks, with the aim of ensuring a continuous supply of the product during the harvest period, which intensifies starting in November." In areas sown at the end of July, the crop is in the grain formation and filling phase. According to Emater/RS-Ascar, this corn shows "adequate vegetative and reproductive development," with no record, so far, of pests or diseases of economic impact.
