The 2024 table grape market in Italy is experiencing significant challenges, marked by low production and high prices, continuing a trend from the previous year. The marketing campaign saw initial high prices for early grapes, which adjusted as the season progressed, but a severe rainfall in September significantly increased prices, with white Italia grapes reaching up to 6 €/kg and seedless varieties even higher. The small grape quantities and early end of the campaign indicate a year of reduced production, with prices driving up. Table grape cultivation in Italy is predominantly in Puglia and Sicily, and adverse weather conditions have impacted production, affecting both domestic and international supply. Despite the challenges, the quality and value of the limited production have led to a 12.8% increase in economic value in 2023, despite a 13.6% drop in export volumes.
