Taean's waters reborn as a "chub squid and seaweed paradise"

Taean County (Mayor Gasero) has achieved the success of securing a total of 66 billion won in project funds by being selected for both the 'Creation of Octopus Spawning and Habitat' and 'Creation of Sea Forest' projects in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' bidding business. The 'Creation of Octopus Spawning and Habitat Project' will be carried out over 5 years from next year to 2030, focusing on the three sea areas of Geunheung, Nammyeon, and Anmyeon. The county will invest a total of 30 billion won (including 15 billion won in government funds) to restore the spawning environment in stages by installing spawning facilities, collecting marine waste, and transplanting octopus parent bodies.
