Paraguay's poultry sector is targeting the Taiwanese market by year-end, which would enhance export volumes. Paraguayan ambassador Carlos Fleitas announced that Taiwanese technicians will inspect Paraguayan slaughterhouses in September. Although poultry exports won't rival beef, they will diversify the export portfolio. Additionally, new meat processing plants for pork and beef are being considered. Beef exports to Taiwan have increased, now making up 10% of Paraguay's total beef exports, despite global shipping issues. Taiwan remains the primary market for Paraguayan pork, accounting for 88% of exports, with shipments expected to double this year due to rising demand and geopolitical factors affecting European pork exports.
