The Paraguayan ambassador to Taiwan, Carlos Fleitas, announced that Taiwanese technicians will inspect Paraguayan meat processing plants by the end of September to authorize poultry meat exports to Taiwan. This move aims to diversify export items, although poultry volumes will be smaller than beef. The ambassador is hopeful that all administrative procedures will be completed by year-end. Plans are also in place to authorize pork and beef processing plants to expand exports. Beef exports to Taiwan have grown significantly, making it the second-largest market for Paraguayan beef, accounting for 10% of total beef exports. Despite global geopolitical challenges, exports of beef, pork, and offal to Asia remain strong. Taiwan is the primary market for Paraguayan pork, representing 88% of exports, with shipments expected to double this year due to increased demand and geopolitical shifts affecting European pork exports.
