Tajikistan has the potential to increase its agricultural exports, according to the country's Export Agency Director, Shavkat Bobozoda. To achieve this, the country needs to address three key issues: stimulating exporters, diversifying export products, and simplifying international trade procedures. Tajikistan has already started exporting green apricots and spinach to Turkey, and has contracts with Russia and Kazakhstan for the supply of early onions, lemons, grapes, and dried fruits. The country has also received the GSP + preferential trading scheme for trade with EU countries, providing up to a 10% import discount and simplifying business procedures for Tajik exporters.
