Tajikistan increased imports of wheat and flour

In the first half of 2023, Tajikistan imported more than 439 thousand tons of wheat, which is 83.5 thousand tons more than in the same period in 2022. Muhammadsaid Faizullozoda, Chairman of the Food Security Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, told journalists about this, ASIA-Plus reports. During this period, flour imports increased by 5.6 thousand tons and exceeded 30 thousand tons. In addition, rice imports to the republic increased by 5.9 thousand tons to 15.3 thousand tons. Experts attribute the growth in imports of these products to the increased demand of the population.
