The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in Egypt has secured a contract to purchase 360 thousand tons of wheat from Romania, deliverable in April, to bolster its strategic wheat reserves. Despite the ongoing contract to purchase local wheat, expected to amount to around 4 million tons, the Ministry assures that Egypt already has a comfortable strategic reserve of wheat, sufficient to last until the end of June 2021. The country's oil supply reserve is also well-stocked, ensuring availability until late June, and sugar stocks are plentiful, ensuring self-sufficiency in rice up until December of this year.
