According to the Tanzanian media outlet Daily News, the Tanzania Cashew Association (CBT) has recently launched the cashew auction sales event for the 2025/26 production season. The country's cashew production for this season is expected to reach 700,000 tons, a significant increase from last year's target of 500,000 tons—last year's actual production had already reached 528,000 tons. CBT CEO Francis Alfred stated that over 45 companies have registered to participate in the auction, which will primarily take place in the southern production areas of the country. The first auction will be held in the Mchichira village of Tandahimba District in the Mtwara Region, organized by the Tandahimba and Newala Cooperative Union.
