Farmers in Ben Cau district, Vietnam are facing challenges due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on their last summer-autumn rice crop. They experienced flooding, decreased rice selling prices, and increased costs for fertilizers and drugs. Despite these challenges, they are planting new crops and taking steps to maintain production. The local authorities are encouraging farmers to keep producing and are implementing policies to allow farmers to work in the fields under epidemic prevention measures. The province is also predicting a shortage of essential food and agricultural products due to congestion and is urging functional sectors to implement specific policies to address this issue.
