The CAPeCA export report shows a 11.4% increase in fishery exports from January to October, totaling $1,713 million. While the volume of hake hubbsi exports increased, prices fell in all markets. Shrimp tails saw a decline in both volume and value, but whole shrimp demand and prices increased, remaining below profitability values. Squid was the only species with a price increase. Demand for frozen hake products and whole shrimp also increased, with Spain being the main market. However, the average price remained low, especially for shrimp tails, with China being the main market but buying less at a lower price. The export of shrimp to the US increased significantly, despite potential protectionist measures, while demand for shrimp tails decreased in both volume and price.
