Tennessee crop conditions continue to slide in the US

Tennessee crops are suffering due to high heat, humidity, and limited rainfall. According to the USDA, the condition of cotton is reported at 84% squared, 32% setting bolls, and 50% good to excellent. Corn is doing well with 81% silking and 30% in the dough stage, but 44% is rated as fair to poor. Soybeans are faring better with 98% emerged, 61% blooming, 31% setting pods, and 62% rated good to excellent. Tobacco plants are also struggling, with only 12% topped and 60% of the crop rated good to excellent. Pastures are rated at 28% good to excellent.
