The Ministry of Rural Affairs of the Xunta de Galicia confirmed this Tuesday the detection of a new outbreak of avian flu in a yellow-legged gull found in La Coruña. The Xunta notified this case, through the Veterinary Health Alert Network, to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, which confirmed the positive result in the central veterinary laboratory of Algete (Madrid). Samples were taken from the deceased animal at the Oleiros center and, subsequently, its carcass was eliminated in accordance with current regulations. This is the tenth confirmed case of avian flu in wild birds in Galicia confirmed in the year 2025. So far, the disease has not been detected in any poultry in this community.
