Thai rice exports in November 2023 reached 1.007 million tons, with an increase of 19.9% and 23.3% compared to October, mainly in polished rice and fragrant rice due to the global rice prices reaching their highest level in 15 years. The main markets for Thai polished rice included Indonesia, Philippines, Algeria, Iraq, Malaysia, Japan, Brazil, and Cameroon. From January to November 2023, Thailand exported 7.945 million tons of rice, an increase of 14.7% over the same period in 2022, with an estimated 800,000 to 900,000 tons of rice to be exported in December 2023, exceeding the initial export target of 8.5 million tons of rice for 2023.
