In an interview with the Vietnam Youth Daily, Deng Fuyuan, Secretary General of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, discussed how Thailand, despite being a leading agricultural country and competitor, is a significant importer of Vietnamese agricultural products, especially frozen durian. This is due to Thailand's short durian harvest season and drought conditions affecting its crop quality and quantity. Consequently, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports to Thailand are higher than to other ASEAN countries, making Thailand Vietnam's fourth largest fruit and vegetable import market, with China remaining the top market for Vietnamese exports.
