According to the Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) of the Thai Ministry of Commerce, China is the largest importer of Thai coconuts, accounting for over 54% of total imports, with a year-on-year increase of 27%. The China International Import Expo (CIIE) has played a crucial role in boosting Thai coconut exports, with sales increasing by 3.5 times since the first CIIE. Thailand aims to further explore the Chinese market for tropical fruits, such as durian, through the CIIE and hopes to increase fruit exports to China to become a major tropical fruit trading country.
