Twenty-eight Thai aquaculture farms and seven aquatic packaging companies have been approved for export to China, following strict inspection by Chinese customs. This not only ensures product quality and safety but also boosts the brand image of Thai aquatic products in the Chinese market. The Thai Ministry of Agriculture has identified the potential for live lobster export, with over 12,000 aquaculture farms in Thailand and prawn output expected to exceed 46,500 tons in 2023. Revenue from prawn exports, primarily to China, is projected to surpass 568 million baht. The Thai Fisheries Department will continue to support the growth of the prawn farming industry, aiming to improve efficiency, quality, and the market stability for Thai fishermen and enterprises, ultimately increasing the global competitiveness of Thai prawns.
