China has opened the Pingxiang Railway Port to import Thai fruits to address the cargo backlog following the closure of Dongxing Port. Thai fruits such as durian, mangosteen, rambutan, and dragon palace fruit are expected to be harvested from mid-February and last until September 2022. The local planting area for these fruits has seen a slight increase of 5% from 2021, covering approximately 1.87 million mu. Production forecasts show a substantial increase of about 27% from last year, with mangosteen production expected to increase by over half and durian by 25%.
