The 141st Ordinary Meeting of the National Food Commission (CONAL) in Argentina discussed the regulation of vegan attributes and vegetable drinks, among other food production and consumer health issues. The meeting saw over 40 procedures being addressed, including the inclusion of salicornia and artisan bread in the Argentine Food Code (C.A.A). A proposal was also presented to regulate vegan/vegetarian products and vegetable drinks. Additionally, a collaboration agreement on food safety and quality between the Secretariat of Food, Bioeconomy and Regional Development (SAByDR) and the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) was signed.
