(Ulsan=Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Yeong-eun = The Ulsan Horticultural Farmers Association began the "24th Ulsan Pear Festival" on the 17th at the Ulsan Horticultural Farmers Association Hanaro Mart area.
The festival, which runs until the 19th, aims to promote the excellence of pears, a representative specialty of Ulsan, and is a place where producers and consumers share the joy of harvest.
Following the opening ceremony on the first day, the event site will host pear, tangerine, and apple quality evaluation meetings, operate a direct agricultural produce market, and run experience and sales booths.
Additionally, programs such as a pear cooking festival and a surprise auction of local agricultural products will be held.
During the festival, various agricultural products, including pears, apples, tangerines, and those from sixth-industry certified businesses, young entrepreneurial farmers, and smart farms, can be purchased at the direct agricultural produce market.
Ulsan pears overcame damages from large-scale forest fires and cold damage, as well as heatwaves and heavy rains, achieving a harvest yield on par with previous years.
