The accurate identification and sampling of Hainan Wenchang pigs and Xinglong buffaloes was successfully completed in China

In order to implement the work deployment of the third national census of livestock and poultry genetic resources on the accurate identification and sampling of local livestock and poultry breeds, from June 16th to 20th, the provincial livestock and poultry resources census office and national and provincial technical experts went to Qionghai and Wanning carried out the collection of tissue and blood samples from Wenchang pigs and Xinglong buffalo. On June 16 and 20, the staff of the Provincial Livestock and Poultry Resources Census Office and members of the expert group carried out the accurate identification and sampling of Wenchang pigs in Changpo Town, Qionghai City and Tanniu Town, Wenchang City respectively.
