The Agricultural Quarantine Administration has updated its guidelines for exporting mandarins to El Salvador, cancelling Circular No. 4 of 2024. Exporters now need to ensure the shipment is pest-free, have a phytosanitary certificate, a certificate of origin, use new and clean containers, and label each carton with specific data. This follows the opening of El Salvador's markets to Egyptian tangerines, oranges, potatoes, and pomegranates, a move to expand international markets for Egyptian agricultural products. The Egyptian agricultural sector has recorded the second highest revenue of $467 million in January this year.
