The area of hop fields in Russia will triple by 2028

The total area of hop fields in Russia will increase by 3.1 times by 2028, exceeding 955 hectares. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation following a meeting between the head of the ministry Oksana Lut and representatives of the Baltika brewing company on the sidelines of SPIEF. “The total area of hop fields in the country at the end of last year increased to 311.8 hectares. At the same time, according to regional estimates, another 644 hectares will be planted in five years, and by 2028 the total area will increase 3.1 times, exceeding 955 hectares. This will form the basis for the further dynamic development of the brewing industry,” the statement says. The Ministry of Agriculture actively supports hop growing projects in the country.
