Ukraine has extended its ban on buckwheat exports until the end of the year, with a decision on whether to extend the ban into 2023 to be made in November. The country needs 110,000 tons of buckwheat for domestic consumption and currently has a forecasted production of 140,000 tons. Despite the war, Ukraine's internal food security is ensured and there is no expected food shortage. Trade in agricultural goods between Ukraine and the European Union increased by 35% in the first eight months of 2022, reaching $9.2 billion.
