The Basque Government has agreed to prohibit the presence of bovine livestock in fairs, contests, competitions, pilgrimages, markets, and other types of temporary events throughout the autonomous community in order to address contagious nodular dermatosis. This is regulated in an order from the Basque Department of Agriculture that will be published this Tuesday, adapting the prevention and control measures for this disease. Although bovine livestock is generally prohibited at these events, the provincial councils may exceptionally authorize their presence if they come from the same farm, provided that the animals return to their farm of origin and the health risk is individually assessed, explained the Department of Agriculture.
