In response to sanctions, Russia is considering a proposal to increase duties on wine imports from 'unfriendly countries' to support its domestic wine industry, which has seen rapid growth and is believed to be capable of satisfying local demand. Deputy Prime Minister Abramchenko backs the initiative, advocating for a careful and expert-driven approach. The proposal, initiated by the Association of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia, also includes plans by the Ministry of Economic Development to allocate the extra revenue towards the development of seaside resorts, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
