The catch of Iwashi sardine in Russia reached 582.6 thousand tons, but the rate has decreased

Between December 8 and December 14, 2024, a fishery involving 21 vessels saw Substantial activity, with six vessels actively fishing for sardines and mackerel. The daily catch varied, with the largest being 500 tons and the average at 197 tons, resulting in a total sardine catch of 6,709 tons and a mackerel catch of 524 tons for the week. The sardine catch experienced a notable increase of 111% compared to the previous year, reaching 582.6 thousand tons, and surpassing the previous season's total catch of 544 thousand tons.
