The cattle market reacts at the beginning of February

The analysis this Wednesday (4) of the information bulletin “Tem Boi na Linha”, from Scot Consultoria, pointed to a rise in the quotations of the beef cattle market in São Paulo. The prices of beef cattle, “China beef”, cows, and heifers increased by R$ 3.00 per arroba. According to the consultancy, the supply of cattle was short and the margin of negotiation below the reference price remained narrow. “Deals were registered above the reference, with purchases of beef cattle at R$ 340.00 per arroba, still sporadically and in small volumes,” informed Scot, adding that the domestic market showed improvement at the beginning of February and that exports maintained a good pace. According to the survey, the average slaughter scale was five days. In Minas Gerais, the restricted supply of cattle boosted quotations in the four markets followed.
