The president of the Segura River Basin Authority (CHS), Mario Urrea, accompanied by the Water Commissioner, Ana María Arenas, has held a working meeting with representatives of the Municipality of Santomera, led by its mayor, Víctor Martínez, and the councilor for Agriculture and Sustainability, José Antonio Martinez. The objective of the meeting was to review the situation of the Preferred Flow Zones (ZFP) in the municipality. During the meeting, the City Council expressed its interest in learning more about the areas affected by the ZFP, outlining the implications that this delineation entails for urban planning and the tertiary use developments planned in the municipality. For its part, the CHS explained that the maps of Preferred Flow Zones, integrated into the National System of Cartography of Flood Zones "constitute an essential tool for ensuring water security and land management."
