The global milk market is experiencing price fluctuations, with butter prices rising while skimmed milk powder prices are falling. This trend is due to both limited milk supply and weak global demand. However, high profitability is expected to increase milk production in the Northern Hemisphere. Demand signals are mixed, with an 9.5% increase in global exporter sales but a 1.7% decrease in imports. A recovery in global demand for dairy products is anticipated by the end of the year, supported by the expected revival of the global economy. A stronger market is predicted for the third and fourth quarter of this year, but agrometeorical conditions among key exporters could be a risk. Milk purchase prices in Poland are expected to be in a mild downward trend, with a forecast of approximately PLN 220/hl at the end of 2024 and around PLN 230/hl at the end of 2025.
